"The General Secretary of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen has urged Moscow to extend its presence and cooperation in Afghanistan. While meeting Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, he said NATO expects Russia to expand its assistance in Afghanistan. While talking to media in Moscow, Rasmussen said he has proposed Russia provide a helicopter package and that he hopes Moscow would consider it positively. He also mentioned about his discussion with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev about expanding its training of Afghan army and police."
